This September begins the agreement that we have signed with ProFuturo, a digital education program of Fundación Telefónica and Fundación ”la Caixa” whose objective is to improve the educational quality of students in schools that have access to our digital education project.
ProFuturo and NASCO project will be implemented in the 43 rural schools, mostly public, that have access to our classrooms: Sawla, Tuna, Kalba, Kulmasa, Jintalpe, Nahare, Techiman, Gindabuo and Fiaso.
The collaboration started in September after a first phase in which our 14 ICT classrooms have been fine-tuned where training will be given in a hybrid format to the 23 educators who will assume the role of coaches. Their functions will be to train and accompany other teachers and directors of the educational centers to ensure the acquisition of digital and transversal skills (management and leadership), as well as benefit children through the implementation of digital content and tools to promote communication skills, cooperation and teamwork, and improve the learning experience in the classroom.
A strategic and sustainable alliance in long term
“With this project we continue to act from the root. We believe that digital education is a seed capable of generating a more oportunities for thousands of young Ghanaians. With the help of ProFuturo, our computer labs will multiply their impact in delivering personalized and transformative learning,” says Ousman Umar, founder of NASCO Feeding Minds.
Hand in hand with our association, ProFuturo will inaugurate a new way of collaborating in the field that provides greater sustainability to the project promoted by Fundación Telefónica and Fundación ”la Caixa”.
“This collaboration responds to a strategic line that seeks to generate synergies and opportunities to grow sustainably in Africa and Asia, managing to take digital education further and further and to more people,” explains the general director of ProFuturo, Magdalena Brier.
NASCO Feeding Minds, in this sense, is presented as a strategic partner, since its intervention is complementary to ProFuturo: ProFuturo contributes with its platform, its contents and all its experience in educational innovation to the infrastructure and technological equipment of our digital labs, to which ProFuturo adapts its Comprehensive Digital Education Model.
Over the next 12 months, nearly 3,000 school-age children (mainly in primary school, but also in secondary school) will benefit from this alliance, although the initiative has the potential to benefit more than 7,000 students in the medium term.
